What should we wear to The Sticky Studio?
For the full Sticky Studio experience, we want our Little Sticky Stars to dive into a world full of sensory fulfilment and explore the magic of colour, which means one thing… MESS! For our Dinky Dots class, babies will be fine in a vest or T shirt and nappy, and an old pair of trousers or leggings if you wish to keep their legs covered. In our Crafty Crew class, we recommend dressing your child in something you don’t mind getting messy, with your child’s torso covered at all times. As mums ourselves, we understand the disappointment of stained clothes and endeavour to use materials that won’t leave permanent marks, however we can’t promise that some staining won’t occur so old clothes only please! We do provide bibs during the class, and also sell our very own The Sticky Studio T-shirts in your little ones favourite colour on our website – these aren’t compulsory but can be handy to grab each week, and ideal for those messy play days at home too!
For adults, we suggest wearing clothes you are comfortable to move around in and that you don’t mind getting a bit messy! Fancy matching your little one's messy Sticky Studio T-shirt? Then take a look at our Sticky Store and order yourself a matching, bespoke apron!
What to bring to The Sticky Studio?
For our sessions, please consider bringing the following things along:
-
A towel or wet wipes for cleaning up your child after the session. Our venues do provide communal washing facilities but it is always handy to have some wipes close by!
-
We advise bringing spare clothes to change your child into at the end of the classes.
-
We anticipate lots of wonderful works of art to be created so please bring along a couple of bags or something similar to carry any pieces of artwork home with you, along with any soiled clothes – we do sell art folders/portfolios which are perfect for transporting and storing your crafty creations!
Health and Safety:
Safety at The Sticky Studio is a number one priority – we take pride in ensuring that all those attending the sessions let their imaginations and creativity flow freely in a safe and secure environment. Our leaders are on hand at all times, but your child does remain your responsibility during The Sticky Studio sessions and must be supervised throughout.
Everything we use in our classes is non toxic as young children explore not only with their hands but also their mouths. The materials used throughout the sessions are all sourced from trusted suppliers and retailers, and are provided in the knowledge that parents and caregivers supervise the children while they participate. Whilst all the materials we use are non-toxic, we must stress children don’t not eat them!
Please make sure any allergies or medical conditions you or your child suffers from are indicated on the booking form when you book onto our sessions so that we can plan accordingly. We strive to be environmentally friendly and will often use foodstuffs or edible paints as part of the sensory and creative play activities at the sessions. It is your responsibility that your child does not come into contact with anything that may cause them to suffer an allergic reaction. If you have any concerns about allergies and intolerances then please contact us to discuss and we will aim to adapt our sessions and art materials. This also allows us to alert other attendees of any alterations to take into consideration.
As is the nature with exploring art, spillages may well occur and some of the materials can cause the play area to become slippy so please, NO running until spillages have been cleared. All materials are made in the knowledge that they are to be played with under a caregiver’s supervision. We appreciate your cooperation in trying to avoid intentional pouring of materials outside of their immediate play areas so that everyone enjoys the experience in a safe environment.

Photography
During the session The Sticky Studio class leader may take photographs of the children enjoying all in the activities. We do this for planning and historical purposes but we often also share photographs on social media including Instagram and Facebook and may use some photographs in marketing materials. We fully understand and respect if you do not wish your child to be included in such photographs. During booking, you will find a section on our booking form which asks you to indicate whether or not you consent to photographs.
Please note, names will not be used alongside any photographs without specific consent being obtained from you.
During the session we expect other parents may take photographs of their own children taking part in the activities to record special memories. Inevitably this may sometimes involve other children being in the background. If you are taking photographs in one of our classes, we must insist photographs of children other than your own are not shared on social media and their privacy is respected.
